John Strang’s journey with Speese Painting began right out of high school, where he started as a helper under the guidance of mentor and previous owner, Dave Speese. Through dedication, hard work, and a deep passion for both the craft and the business, John steadily rose through the ranks. In 2018, he proudly took ownership of the company, a testament to his commitment and vision for its future. A Rockford resident, John grew up in the Forest Hills and East Grand Rapids areas, where his roots in the community were first planted. With 19 years of experience at Speese Painting, he brings a wealth of expertise to every project and a genuine enthusiasm for sharing his knowledge with customers. Beyond his professional life, John is a man of many interests. He enjoys woodworking, landscaping, building computers, collecting rocks and fossils, and painting on canvas. A self-described student of life, John’s curiosity and eagerness to learn shine through in both his work and personal pursuits. He looks forward to continuing to grow Speese Painting while passing on the skills and insights he’s gained—and will continue to gain—over the years.
